Ix Chel _ Mayan. Moon Goddess, married to the sun but fiercely independent. A fertility goddess for the earth and for women.
The Moon Goddess Hecate, Greek Goddess of the Crossroads. She is often shown as the crone. Hecate was the only one of the Titans who Zeus allowed to retain authority after the Olympians had defeated them. She was given the position of being the guardian of the households and the protector of all that was newborn.
“The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.” ― Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me
